Abstract

Purpose/Significance: This study aims to objectively analyze the research focus areas and interrelations within international studies on "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era," with an emphasis on addressing existing challenges and identifying future research directions. By contextualizing these themes within cross-cultural psychological perceptions and communication frameworks, the study explores their implications for global understanding, particularly in the field of sports psychology. Methods/Process: Using keyword data from publications on the Web of Science (WOS) platform, this research employs SPSS hierarchical cluster analysis to categorize high-frequency terms into five clusters. A strategic coordinate diagram is then used to visualize the relationships between these clusters and identify core themes in the research landscape. Results/Conclusions: The findings highlight "Chinese Foreign Policy" and "The Belt and Road Initiative" as central themes in international research on Xi Jinping Thought, reflecting their global influence and strategic importance. Concepts such as "The Belt and Road Initiative" and "A Community with a Shared Future for Mankind" underscore the evolving maturity of China’s diplomatic strategies, drawing significant international attention. Additionally, ideological and political education in colleges and universities emerges as a distinct research focus, with implications for fostering psychological resilience and leadership in the context of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Research on Chinese enterprises demonstrates strong developmental potential and is likely to become a future hotspot, while studies on the modernization of the PLA’s military reform remain loosely structured and require further focus. To deepen international understanding of Xi Jinping Thought, it is essential to strengthen its precise interpretation and cross-cultural communication. These findings suggest valuable insights for sports psychology by exploring how psychological perceptions and communication strategies can influence cross-cultural understanding and foster collaborative frameworks in an interconnected global environment.
