Focus and Scope
The Revista de Psicologia del Deporte/Journal of Sport Psychology (RPD/JSP) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal aimed at publishing scientific papers based on rigorous methodologies directed to contribute to the development of the field of Sport and Exercise Psychology.
RPD/JSP publishes original research articles either using quantitative or qualitative methodologies which represent a significant contribution to the current knowledge. This includes a vast range of empirical studies including the validation and/or adaptation of measurement instruments. Validation of questionnaires should follow recommendations of American Educational Association (https://www.apa.org/science/programs/testing/standards), American Psychological Association & National Council on Measurement in Education (2014). Adaptation of questionnaires should follow International Test Commission (https://www.intestcom.org/files/guideline_test_adaptation_2ed.pdf) recommendations, particularly regarding to the confirmatory aim the study should have.
RPD/JSP also publishes theoretical papers, systematic reviews and meta-analysis as well as book reviews relevant to the field. The journal is focused on Sport and Exercise Psychology but multidisciplinary approaches from allied disciplines are particularly welcome. In case of systematic reviews and meta-analysis, it is strongly recommended authors follow the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA; http://www.prisma-statement.org)
RPD/JSP embraces transparency and open science policy. Therefore, the journal promotes reproducibility of studies and encourages authors to carefully disclose the types of research designs and analytic methods used. In the same vein, the journal promotes the sharing of data, methods, and materials to the availability of other researches. RPD/JSP also recognizes the value of replication for independent verification of research and it is open to publishing such studies.
RPD/JSP is a non-profit making journal. The publication fee is to cover the expenses of managing and editing the articles.
